On an interview, Sheikh Gumi in his hideout says Muslims in Nigeria will not support any foreign military intervention led by the United States, to protect the Christians. According to him, id the United States decides to take this action, it will only provoke these terrorists groups to attack more Christians

That is only an alibi, but deep inside, they are afraid of the intervention of the USA. The problem of terrorism in Nigeria is deeply rooted, and if this is not solved, many Christians will perish.

At some point, either NIgeria deals with the problem of Christian genocide in northern NIgeria or an outside power will deal with it and they (read, the U.S.) won't be nice and gentle about it.
