groundbreaking ceremony for the Ronald Ngala Utamaduni (Cultural) Center was held in Mombasa today, a project championed by Coast political leaders to preserve Swahili heritage. The center, funded by both the national government and Mombasa County, will house a museum, a library of Swahili manuscripts, a performing arts theatre, and a research institute. "This is not just a building; it is a fortress for our culture, language, and history," said Mvita MP Abdulsamad Nassir. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months and is projected to become a major tourist and academic attraction.
