Couple found dead after trying to cross Atlantic

The bodies of a couple who set off on a sailing trip across the Atlantic Ocean have been found on a washed-up life raft almost six weeks after they were last seen.

Briton Sarah Packwood and her Canadian husband Brett Clibbery are thought to have abandoned their yacht and perished before washing up on Sable Island near Nova Scotia in Canada on 12 July.

The couple were reported missing on 18 June after leaving Nova Scotia in their 13m (42ft) eco-friendly yacht, Theros, a week earlier.

They were on the way to the Azores – about 3,228 km away – with the trip planned to take 21 days.

I think, they were going to transfer to another better yacht but too late to realize. They were out of balance and were captured by waves of the deep ocean.

It always saddens me when people leave their homes on an adventure and end up dying. I really feel pity for them though.

May the couple rest in peace. They should have listened to their gut if good to cross the ocean or not considering their ignorance in swimming. Sometimes it is not good to be hard-headed.

It is truly unfortunate to hear about the incident. One can't help but wonder about the reasons why they abandoned their yacht. Regardless, my thoughts and prayers are with them. This serves as a reminder that sometimes it is safer to enjoy activities closer to home or within safer proximity.

Very sad story, but we need to see the hazardous condition which may appear in our adventure. We need to sail in normal way don't need to become different and to break world records.

It is very unfortunate. Sometimes, we have to be very careful with our lives because our existence involves other people. It is sad that the couple take their lives for granted and wasted their time and money for what takes their lives.
