I have three crypto exchange platforms that I normally use on a regular basis. All of them always ask for Google Authenticator codes before I can send crypto or withdraw my crypto.

I understand that it is a security measure. Do all exchanges require this?

Many crypto exchanges implement rules asking for Google Authenticator, both when logging in or making transactions, either withdrawing crypto or fiat money, there are even exchanges that ask for confirmation of phone numbers and emails. As users, we must comply with these rules.

All exchanges I know, including my national CEX (the only I can use since the new regulating law in my country), strongly invite users to activate the 2FA, but not necessarily the Google Authenticator 2FA. Users are often free to rely on authenticators from other companies.
