According to the FBI, there has been a 53% increase in crypto-related online fraud compared to the previous year (2022). These fraudsters target companies and individuals, with business email schemes. Most fraudsters use custodial accounts or wallets held at financial institutions, or swap crypto for fiat money or to pay for third party transactions.
 
A lot of newbies in cryptocurrency is trying to understand and invest in cryptocurrency without taking the risks into consideration. Due to high level of illiteracy in cryptocurrency markets, a lot of newbies fall victim to fraud and scams.
