Crypto Investor Arrested for Kidnapping and Torture

According to Edition.cnn.com, crypto investor John Woeltz (37) was arrested by police on Friday night on charges of kidnapping and torturing a 28-year-old Italian citizen. After arriving in New York and staying in a luxury Manhattan apartment, the victim was kidnapped and tortured by American John Woeltz for a week to force him to hand over his Bitcoin wallet password.

When the victim had the opportunity to escape and seek help from a traffic police officer, John Woeltz was finally arrested and charged by prosecutors with possession of a firearm, kidnapping, and torture. Woeltz was ultimately held without bail.
