Google Play is one of the main gateways for Web 3 product adoption and plays a crucial role in ensuring access for users worldwide. Unfortunately, the Google Play platform has been widely misused by unscrupulous individuals to profit through various means, including fraud, virus and malware infections, and even impersonating or counterfeiting popular DeFi app protocols.

Starting August 14, 2025, the Google Play Store has implemented stricter rules for publishing mobile apps on the Play Store, aiming to reduce fraud and user data theft. Therefore, every crypto exchange and wallet that will be displayed or published on the Play Store must have official permission and comply with the regulations of their respective countries.

Google Play has decided to close the doors to those clever people who install fake crypto apps. Starting August 14, 2025, every exchange or wallet must have an official license and follow the laws of the respective country. No more shortcuts or introducing malware to people without their knowledge.

This is a clean move because Web3 requires trust. As a legit developer, this is an opportunity to show your quality without being ruined by scammers. If you are serious about crypto, play by the rules and you will break through without stress. The system becomes clean, and users get peace of mind.
