Delayed gratification refers to a person's ability to restrain themselves from getting satisfaction or pleasure now, in order to get greater satisfaction in the future. Someone who is used to doing delayed gratification tends to live more disciplined, obeys the rules they have made and can make better decisions.
In everyday life, we always have to be able to make decisions on various choices or alternatives, after work hanging out at a cafe, or going for a walk and having dinner outside. Without us realizing it, the money we spend turns out to be very large, which should have been saved or bought investment instruments.
Likewise, when we invest, we are often in a hurry, the assets we buy go down or the assets we sell go up in price. So we have to be patient waiting for the right moment to sell or buy investment assets.
However. delayed gratification should not be applied strictly or excessively in our lives which often have negative consequences such as stress or illness. So we should not be stingy with ourselves but also not wasteful. What do you think?
