New Delhi,December 26, 2025: The capital shivered under a dense fog blanket this morning as the minimum temperature plummeted to 3.5°C, the coldest this season. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next 48 hours, warning of "very dense fog" and "cold day" conditions. Flight and train schedules at IGI Airport and major railway stations faced significant disruptions, with over 50 flights delayed and 12 cancelled. The Safdarjung observatory recorded a maximum of just 15.2°C, making it a classic cold day.
