Delhi's First 'Food Forest' Takes Root in Tughlaqabad
New Delhi,December 26, 2025: On a two-hectare rocky terrain in the Tughlaqabad forest area, Delhi's first 'Food Forest' was officially launched today by environmental groups in partnership with the Forest Department. Mimicking a natural ecosystem, it features over 2,000 saplings of fruit trees, nitrogen-fixing plants, and medicinal herbs, all planted in symbiotic layers. The project aims to be a self-sustaining model for urban greening and food security, requiring minimal maintenance once established
