Do you believe that your colleagues at work are not your friends?

I have come across a statement that suggests that our colleagues at work should not be considered friends. The reason being, that they might use our personal information against us. It is advisable to set boundaries and avoid some colleagues who might appear friendly but talk behind our backs. To be on the safer side, we should not disclose our life plans to them. However, this method depends on the work environment, and we need to use our instincts to determine the colleagues we should avoid at all costs. In today's world, it is hard to trust people, so we should be cautious and not allow anyone to know everything about our lives. What do you think?

I definitely don't consider most of my friends because we have nothing in common except work, but I have one really hard-working friend with whom we work together and we spend time even outside of work together

l too agree with you on that. As far as l am concerned, l have been knowing that being in friendship with the colleagues at work is like a suicidal. It's however advisable to friend with other people in the other side of the town and set your boundaries for not allowing the friends to know a lot about you.
