Do you have a mentor?

While i have gone through various paid courses and even free ones to learn and improve in graphic designing, i have never really had a mentor. Someone i can ask questions to, someone more experienced than me i can learn from. Recently i have been thinking about getting a mentor and see how that would help me improve to the next level. Do you have a mentor?

Why not direct your problem to artificial intelligence? It is free. However, if you find a good human mentor, then that will be okay. I hired a mentor when I wrote my thesis and doctoral dissertation. It was required by the graduate studies department. I paid them handsomely, they sat during the final oral defenses.

Yes, when I was working for a high-tech company which gets government assistance, the government assigned a mentor to me to help me cope with some technology issues.

No, I never had a mentor. Even when I started a job no one guided me because they were scared of the new people as they may be a danger to their job.

I have a career mentor. He is a highly successful accountant. And I follow his advices to excel in my accounting career also.

The lady that taught me how to sew is highly successful as a tailor. And I submit to her as my business mentor as far as sewing is concerned.

Yes i make use of AI but there are some things i feel a mentor would be of better help to like life experience and so on, but i do make use of AI for some aspect though.

Wow... Did you just say AI should mentor a human in business? I just can't help but shake my head. How does that even work? Is it ChatGPT that can be a business mentor?

I have never had a mentor, only a coach. I enrolled in a VA class some years ago and paid a small fee to receive the lessons and guidance from her. Now, I just use the free lessons available, as I think I can learn the things I want without having to pay for them.

I never had a real mentor either, just learned bit by bit from YouTube, forums and trial & error. But honestly, having someone more experienced to guide you would probably save a lot of time. Even a casual check-in with someone who’s a step ahead can make a big difference.
