Do you know what spaving means?

I learned a new word today: "spaving." It refers to using your savings to spend money in order to take advantage of coupons or discounts. In my opinion, this isn't a good idea, as it can adversely affect your savings goals and tempt you to spend on unnecessary items. Do you ever find yourself doing this?

I never spend my savings on discount items.

This is not a good financial idea to me. you would just spend money unnecessarily with this method. it's a waste

This is the first time I heard of this word. I usually do not use my savings to buy discounted items. My savings is in my fixed deposit account to earn interests.

Never heard of that term. However, I do use something like this. For instance, I use points accumulated on my shopping card to get cashbacks.

In my opinion, spaving is a trap or marketing strategy implemented by retailers, where you are expected to shop more even though you don't need the items you buy, so you should avoid spaving.
