When I started speaking to foreigners in real life, it was unusual because sometimes they couldn't understand me because we didn't learn how to pronounce English fluently like native speakers when we taught it in school. And these days, I spend much of my time learning the British accent so that I can speak like them rather than with a regional accent.

I do not pay too much attention to my accent. I believe that understanding each other is more important than the way we pronounce words or the accent we have.
I also think so because then it will differentiate us when everyone communicates in English, but sometimes I don't feel comfortable because my accent can seem funny to others

I don't have time for phonetics. My main aim in discussions is to make sure i pass the necessary information across. Once, the person understands my ideas and expressions, am okay with it. The essence of all grammar is communicate effectively and efficiently.
