Do you take any action against people who have cheated you?

If a person has cheated you, falsely claiming to own your business, bank account, domains, and the government blindly believes the liar to give the liar a government job, what do you do? The liar has destroyed your reputation, so the government refuses to believe you, though you can legally prove that you are telling the truth.

In most cases i let it go, i believe in karma, they would reap what they have sown, so no need taking any action myself.
