Does one still have to pay commission on a losing futures trade?

I heard that it is very expensive to trade futures. The person that told me that said that there are lots of deductions when trading futures. He also said that you have to still pay commission for a futures trade that you have are losing. How true is this?

That's not negotiable. When you execute a futures trade, you would have to be charged a commission by the exchange.
