Does passion matter more than profit when starting a business?

A successful business needs a balance between passion and a viable business model that generates profit. Passion can be the driving force for motivation and resilience, but without a plan for profitability, a business may struggle to survive.

If you don't have money to invest or you have little, then yes, but when you already have money to invest, then the profits are more important, since you will want to know when you will recover your investment and when you will be in profit.

If you are pursuing just profits with your startup, you would easily get tired of the business when challenges come. You would lose still on both ends.
In the journey of starting a business, many enter with the motivation to make a quick profit. But the truth is, if your goal is only money, then when the challenges come—and they will—you will quickly get tired. Business is about more than profit; it is about vision, values, and purpose.

When the challenges are overwhelming, it is a deep vision and true passion that give you the strength to move forward. Without them, business becomes a burden, and even the profits made do not bring joy. At the end of the day, you lose out on everything—spiritually and financially.

Entrepreneurs should ask themselves: “Why am I doing this business?” If the answer is to help, improve lives, or make a difference, then even the profits will come in a sustainable way.
