People always say that a shop that has a warm smell with blue flashing lights would induce a customer to buy more or actually make a purchase even when they did not plan to.

Do you think the lighting and smell of a shop actually affect customer buying patterns?

In my opinion, the lighting and smell of a store have a significant impact on customers. A pleasant atmosphere prepares them for shopping. When you walk into a place with a good smell and attractive lighting, you feel psychologically comfortable, which encourages you to stay longer. This means you are more likely to look at more products and possibly purchase something you didn’t want. The psychology of shopping is largely dependent on mood and environment, and stores that effectively use these tactics have a competitive advantage. Customers want a pleasant shopping experience, and this increases sales.
