Don't let alcohol become your boss

I am someone who does like to have a drink of alcohol but it's not all the time and only really on special occasions or for a treat.

Over Christmas and New Year, I had some alcohol but since then, I have not drank any and the next time may not be until my birthday.

You should always know your limits when it comes to alcohol and not let it lead you and your life.

Sadly, some people cannot control their desire to drink hard liquor. they only make the wine manufacturing company wealthy and the body to get sick slowly without assurance of survival.
Alcohol is a kind of addiction. So whoever starts taking it can't do without it after taking it regularly.

Instead of realizing its harmful effects of alcohol the number of people taking alcohol are increasing. It wasn't prevalent in India but it is now.
I agree there. It is getting more common these days. We never thought that drinks have to be a part of any party or celebration. But now it is. More youths are starting with drinking and smoking at a very young age. Earlier it was considered a bad thing in good families and no one would dare to drink in front of their elders. Now, it's open and all generations are drinking together. There is no stigma attached to drinking any more and it has become a normal part.

In my family it's still a tabu and no drinks are offered in a family celebration.

That's good. It's the same thing in my mom's family and in my in law's house. There is no drink offered if the celebration is at home. But if it's in some party hall or banquets, they have provision for drunks too. However, in our nuclear families, they do have drinks depending on the company that they have. My husband will offer drinks if it's his friends reunion in our home

Alcohol is not allowed even in my nuclear family. We didn't offer drinks in my son's marriage. My husband and me are dead against drinks because we can't tolerate drunk people. I hate the smell of it.

I have seen and come across various persons who due to their drinking habits they have lost everything they once had and they are still not able to stop drinking.

That is so right, it is better not to experience drinking a bit for it becomes a habit and one cannot resist once there is an invitation to a drinking spree until the body longs for it any time in the day or evening.

That is the case in my mom's family. There it is a big taboo still. Though few in new generation have started it. Interestingly, many in my family have served in Defense services and we stoll have some serving it. They have easy access to the best quality alcoholic drink at subsidised rates. But the bottles never come to home.
They are bit liberal about drinks in my in laws family. My father in law didn't touch it though he was in police. But others live to have it in celebration and parties. But thankfully, no one is an addict and they do it responsibly.

That's a great relief. At least you can lead a peaceful life.

And the truth is that it is very difficult to give up alcohol, because when it becomes your boss, you can no longer control yourself. After that, you either need to see a doctor or there are no other options. You need to prevent him from driving even before the start when he becomes stronger and stop taking

They have no control over it. It is surprising that I know someone who drinks alcohol every week, and sometimes even daily. I simply do not understand why some people enjoy it so much. The taste of alcohol is just not that appealing. LOL

I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, some people have a hard time controlling their drinking habits. They may continue drinking late into the night, regardless of whether they have enough money or not.

They are hard headed people. They never like being advised. They stick to their own beliefs which may succumb them to five feet below the ground.

When I was at school, I sometimes drank alcohol at certain events such as parties and birthdays, but only drank a little, so I didn't get drunk. But after work I almost never attend parties, so I haven't touched a drink for a long time and there's no way alcohol can boss me around.

That is so good of you having self control and discipline. Some guys can't sleep if not drunk. It becomes their habit.
