In India some electronic gadgets, especially home appliances last long. My mixer- grinder ran for 14 years and my fridge for 32 years. Even my TV went on for 24 years. I brought new ones within a few months.

Wow, it's great to hear that home appliances in India last a long time. Our refrigerator has been with us for 15 years, and I hope it will last even longer.
However smartphones have to be changed every 3 to 4 years has they start hanging time and again.

What I have noticed is that the older gadgets tend to last longer than the new and modern ones we have today. I feel what we had back then, placed a lot of focus on durability. While presently these companies tend to focus more on looks and specs.
I don't think that nowadays we have such items with the same durability. Modern appliances last for under ten years.
That's true. My gas stove lasted for 20years but I don't know how many years this one is going to last.
