Factory reset of Android device

If some Android devices are completely hacked, it is better to do a factory reset. Has anyone done a factory reset of their Android tablet, smartphone or other gadget anytime and did it solve the problem?

In my case it was not because my phone was hacked, it was mostly due to the fact that it was malfunctioning due to the things i have installed in it, so i had to factory reset, and it solved the problem.

Android devices can be resetted from the settings. It can also be achieved with combining to press some keys when the phone is off.
