Fashion designer specialising only on making suits- Would it fly?

A friend is asking me how to create a niche in the fashion industry for his fashion business. The guy can sow suits very well. I advised him to specialise in making just suits. Different kinds of suits.

Do you think niching like that would fly?

Before someone would decide to specialize in suits, that person must be highly skilled. Such a fashion designer would be highly regarded.

Well, nothing wrong with doing just a niche sewing but I think sewing different things would bring you more customers. it is good good to be a versatile tailor so that you take on other jobs

The challenge is how the fashion designer would be able to establish himself as an authority. If he can do that, just forget it. He would be so rich with that niche.

In my country most people that l see being engaged on that kind of business are most likely dealing with ladies designs and school uniforms. This is only being profitable here unlike the suit designing.

Yes it would, I know a designer who only knows how to sew native wears for men and he is making good money from it.

It is elitist people that actually love to wear suits. If you are good with making suits, you are likely going to have big customers and make good money.
