A female teacher of a school in my city alon g with her husband was arrested for land scam worth crores of rupees. The victim is a parent of the same school.
The teacher a resident of Kerala expressed a wish to sell some of her paternal land in Kerala to which the victim agreed and paid crores of rupees before registration of the land in his name. The teacher avoided registration and fell into the hands of police.

The teacher have breach trust the parent have on her and she will definitely pay back funds she collected from the parent. It is very embrassing and shameful that a teacher will behave in such manner.
Nowadays the teachers in India are the most corrupt and that's the reason the youngsters today in India up to violence and all sorts of illegality.

How can a teacher do this to a parent. Some people don't just have conscience just because of the life for money
It's greed for money made her do such heinous crime.

The teacher took advantage of the trust the parents had as a teacher who they normally let take care of their kids. It's situations like this that creates people with trust issues.

These days most teachers in India have no ethics. What are the students going to learn from them?

Obviously the children would start copying wrong things from the teachers. That's why parents needs to take out time to always find out from the kids what happened in school and what they learnt.

It should be better for the victim to hire a land surveyor to know whether that land was legit and see in the register of deeds if the said property was registered and underwent an extra judicial partition. It's best to be smart.

Teachers used to have high moral standards in the past. But not anymore with this kind of teachers available.
In India now a person who doesn't get any job goes for teaching job where the payment is very less in private schools. Getting a job in government school in India is very difficult as there's lot of corruption.

I am hoping that the money was returned to her, if not , the scammer must be jailed. What is the latest update? Is the money returned?

Yes you are right @aninditasen parents needs to be extremely careful, and ensure they put their eyes down on their kids.
Parents should encourage their children to be frank and share every event that happens in school. That helps proper guidance by the parents.
