Former Albanian President Ilir Meta arrested on Monday over allegations of money laundering

Former Albanian President Ilir Meta has been arrested on Monday over allegations of money laundering, he, was taken into custody in the capital Tirana after returning from Kosovo.


Tedi Blushi, Meta’s spokesperson, called the arrest "inappropriate" and claimed it would be "condemned by all patriotic and honest Albanians." after seeing images circulating in the media showing masked police removing Meta from a vehicle as he appeared to resist, before being taken away in a special forces van.

There are many of them doing that. Yesterday, the Peruvian President was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in the same case of money laundering. I wonder why they are so greedy when they already have millions.

Politics is a dangerous game. Once you fall out and don't have power again, your enemies will come for you. Secondly, most politicians are equally greedy and self centered human beings who deserve to rot in cells. It is very unfortunate that such a successful man will fall from grace to grass.
