Federal High Court in Lagos, aa ordered the forfeiture of property valued at N11.14 billion linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.
Trial judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, stated this after an-ex parte application filed and argued by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, counsel, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN. it's an interim forfeiture of the property to the Federal Government.
The counsel stated that Emefiele was suspected of purchasing the high-value property, in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by proxy, using proceeds from fraud.
