According to the report, Michael Barnier has become the shortest-serving French prime minister in modern history as opposition parties have ousted his government in a historic no-confidence vote – which hands president Emmanuel Macron a fresh political crisis.

The report said that Mr. Barnier's government is the first to be forced out by such a vote in more than 60 years, with the trigger being a clash over the country's budget for next year, after a majority of 331 voted in support of the motion to remove him.

The report added that a minimum of 288 were needed. The Independent is the world’s most free-thinking newsbrand, providing global news, commentary and analysis for the independently-minded.

First Germany, now France.things are happening and people need to wake up.I recall Macron saying that the French people would probably vote to leave the EU if they were given a referendum, and apparently they pulled some tricks to stop them voting for the right-wing party. This is the end result. Not you getting to keep power, but you leaving in a much more shameful way. -One viewer said.

If your country collapses it simply means you haven't been doing your job, nothing more, nothing less. Why pay these losers a salary just to waste time and look good?
