Fun or minimalist website design?

I remember that from around 2000 to 2010, colorful, different, and fun designs were very fashionable, but from 2010 to the present, minimalism has been very popular. That's why I wanted to know: what do you think is better for a website? A fun and colorful design or a minimalist and simple design?

These days minimalist design is popular, I don't see people experimenting with fancy fonts, and graphics.
