Getting new customers is pretty easier retaining them is the thing, what do you think?

I completely agree that retaining existing customers is much harder than attracting new ones. Many businesses focus too much on marketing and forget that customer loyalty is what sustains long-term success. When someone buys from you the first time, it’s usually curiosity or convenience, but keeping them coming back requires trust, consistency, and a genuine connection. Providing great customer service, addressing complaints quickly, and personalizing their experience can make a big difference. People remember how a business makes them feel more than the product itself. Also, loyalty programs, discounts for repeat buyers, and constant communication can strengthen the bond. It’s important to show appreciation and let customers know their support matters. In the end, loyal customers become brand advocates who bring in others through word of mouth, which is more powerful than any paid advertisement. Retention truly defines the health and sustainability of a business.

In normal circumstances getting new customers to the business is always not an issue but the hardest thing is to retain the existing customers. What is your take on that?
I have heard the saying that a new customer is more valuable than a previous customer. I also believe that retaining existing customers is a difficult but rewarding task. Loyal customers generate consistent revenue and build a good reputation for your business.

To retain them, it is important to care about them and listen to their needs. Excellent service, clear communication, and special offers increase loyalty. When customers feel valued, they have a reason to come back again and again.

Agree. You can always get new customers after a marketing campaign. But how to retain them requires some strategies. Loyalty programs, communicate with them often and understand their change of needs may help to engage them and earn their trust.

There are so many challenges that cause entrepreneurs to fail in retaining customers for sure. The stiff competition that comes after one starts a very successful business is usually very high for the same kind of people to continue patronising on your business.
