Greece shuts schools as heatwave hits

Greece closed the ancient Acropolis tourist site, suspended schools, and stationed medicos throughout Athens on Wednesday as it faced its first heatwave of the season.

Temperatures in sections of the Mediterranean country were predicted to reach 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees Fahrenheit) on Wednesday and Thursday, fueled by southerly winds carrying hot air and dust from North Africa.

What they term heatwave is simply a hot breeze in some part of African countries. When i heard that school was shut down because of heat, i was shocked because we walk barefoot and play in the hot sun which is around 43 degree Celcius or above.
