Has smartphone cameras made scanners useless?

Scanners were used to transform physical documents into digital ones. But today, people can easily snap their documents with their smartphone cameras to get a digital copy of them.

Does the advent of smartphone cameras make scanners not to have usefulness again?

I have not seen people making use of scanners in recent times. It is not in vogue any longer. And truly, smartphone cameras serve that purpose better.

No scanners are still very much needed, as you need a real scanner to get the best, so smartphones with camera haven't made scanners completely useless.

I haven't seen someone use scanners for a long while. Even when they want to digitize documents, they just scan it.

To a large extent, smartphone cameras have replaced cameras for transforming unofficial physical documents to digital. But for formal documents, scanners are still the best.
