Has the use of cash reduced in the last few decades?

Earlier cash or cheque was the only way to pay for a transaction. In the last few decades, credit cards, mobile and online payment have become popular. Has there been a decrease in the cash payments in the last few decades in your country?

I do less than 20% of all my financial transactions with cash. The use of cash for transactions has greatly reduced.

I seldom use cash for payment nowadays except when I buy at the wet market where the sellers only accept cash. In fact, most people do not use cash now.

I think it has slightly reduced to some extent, people these days mostly prefer moving cashless, they can easily transfer online or use their bank cards.

Yes, it has decreased quite a bit. Cash is still required to pay in some stores, for public transportation, and more, here. Hehe

The interesting thing is that even as cash becomes rare, there’s pushback to make sure shops and restaurants keep accepting it. Not everyone can rely on phones or cards, and during tech outages cash is still the fallback
