Have you ever merged you site with someone else's site?

Recently, I merged my site with someone else's site. This is the first time I have merged my site with someone else's site, and now I am a co-owner. Well, I have merged my own websites, especially blogs. In fact a few months ago, I created one of my biggest websites by merging a couple of websites. It now has over 1000 articles. Have you ever merged your websites with someone else's website, why did you merge?

No , I have not done it when my old website was active. But I was thinking that I should have merged it to protect my website. against scams or dormant.
