Have you ever spent your money for giveaways? For what purpose?

Last December, I spent some money to do giveaways to my family members. I spent over $20 on that. Anyone that uploaded a photo on the family WhatsApp group got $1 equivalent of local currency instantly credited to your account. It was just meant to stimulate family bonding.

Have you ever spent money on giveaways? What was the essence of the giveaway?

Here, we give out lucky money to family members on their birthday, and also during Chinese New Year.
