Lol most of them do this just to scare the people to pay up their money cause there have been cases of people who run without paying, even with the threats. I heard some loan sharks also use diabolical methods, i don't know how true this is though.

Loan sharks are the worst. Once you borrow money from them the loan never ends. Its just keeps increasing on a daily basis. In y country they go to an extend of taking your debit card and cashing out on pay day to pay them selves till your loan in complete.
