Have you over-promised a customer in your business?

As business people, we always have to give customers our words about our products and services. Some of us tend to make too big promises to customers. Have you ever gotten carried away and over-promised a customer?

I have over promised a client on the delivery time of a project. And I had to apologize when I couldn't keep to my promise.

One thing i always try to avoid is to ensure that I don't tell my customers things i know I won't be able to deliver at the end of the day.

Business persons should not just be eager to make sales and just make promises they are not sure they can keep. That's true for service providers.
