According to the report, the Ukrainian army's counterattack in recent days has caused the Russian army to fall apart in many directions along the front. In some directions, the Russians are even retreating en masse. Ukrainian forces are ramping up the pace and the scale of Kyiv’s counteroffensive, after they have managed to wipe out weeks of Russia’s gains and liberated multiple small settlements in southeastern Ukraine in the region of Zaporizhzhia.
The report stated that the US-based Institute for the Study of War think tank (ISW), the main Ukrainian advance has been recorded roughly 80 kilometres east of Zaporizhzhia city, where Russian forces had been making gains since the summer of 2025. Ukrainian forces have also regained control of territory in north-eastern and eastern Ukraine, on the Kharkiv, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka fronts. Kyiv troops started slowing down Russian troops about a week ago, and in many areas largely stopped their advance.
Estonian intelligence said that the Russian army has faced several serious problems on the battlefield after the massive shutdown of Starlink terminals for enemy forces. Another factor complicating the Russian offensive was the recent restrictions on Telegram. Estonian Colonel Ants Kiviselg confirmed the impact of Ukrainian counteroffensives in retaking territories, emphasizing the notable setbacks faced by the Russian army in recent developments. According to him, the blocking of Starlink terminals for the Russian army became the actual reason for the reduction in the number of Russian UAV strikes on Ukrainian rear units.
In addition to the report, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine's Defense Forces have liberated 300 square kilometers in the south of the country during counteroffensive assault operations.
