According to the report, a woman allegedly gave her ex-lover a cooler that held the deceased remains of her miscarried fetus, saying, "Here's your kid. According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Law and Crime, a man contacted police at around 2:45 a.m. on September 18 regarding a deceased fetus in a cooler.
The report also stated that the victim told police that he had been friends with 29-year-old Makayla Annette Haedt for years, and the pair had an on-and-off romantic fling, but never dated, per the affidavit. He explained that two or three months before the incident, Haedt confronted him and said that she was pregnant, which he doubted because he claimed she was a habitual liar.
The report added that on September 17, Haedt sent a message to the victim stating she had a miscarriage, and the pair met up to run errands shortly thereafter, the affidavit said. The woman then gives the cooler with a dead fetus to her ex-boyfriend. When he opened the cooler, he saw the dead fetus that his girlfriend had aborted.
Haedt was arrested and charged with first-degree harassment.
