Hindi is India's national language but the Southern states are vehemently opposing the decision as they say their state people need only to learn English for global progress and their mother tongue to deal within the state. I think Odisha, Maharashtra and Bengal who also agree with the Southern states.

English is an international language, It fosters better understanding among nations. And English is not the native language of India. China becomes a sleeping giant whose language is not English.

English is still the official language in India. We still write official letters in English. We have both Hindi and English and local language in used in every office.

Okay that's good so there will be better understanding should there be a foreign visitor that may happen to visit places in India. They could communicate using the English language.
