The space agency of China informed on Tuesday that they have chosen the first astronaut from Hong Kong to participate in the Chinese space program. According to John Lee Ka-Chiu, who currently serves as the Chief Executive in Hong Kong, the selected astronaut will take on the role of a payload specialist working on the "Glorious" mission. This appointment highlights Hong Kong's priority on the advancement of science and technology within the region. Notably, the chosen astronaut has a background as a policewoman and has worked in a classified technical services division before.
