It is the boss that always leads, and gives direction to the staff in a business place. And the staff or employee is obligated to take and carry out any instructions the boss gives.

Situations might warrant an employee to say No or disagree with a boss. Is that even possible without relationship being damaged? How?

Hi, that's a good question, and I actually believe it is possible to express disagreement without damaging your relationship with your boss, as long as it's done respectfully and constructively. The key is assertive communication: clearly explaining the reasons for your disagreement and offering alternatives or solutions instead of simply rejecting them. Choosing the right time and tone is also important, avoiding public or emotional confrontations. Showing empathy and understanding for your boss's position helps maintain a good relationship, even if you don't agree on everything. Furthermore, demonstrating that your intention is to improve the work and not just challenge for the sake of challenging goes a long way. In short, expressing a dissenting opinion can strengthen trust if done respectfully, honestly, and with a collaborative attitude.
