How do I manage a highly brilliant staff who is very toxic in character?

These are staff that outperform expectations. They always perform at the highest level. But their character in relating with other staff is quite toxic.

As a business owner, how do you manage such a staff and keep them as part of the team?

I sincerely won't be able to manage such a staff. It is better to have good character and you are an average staff than have excellent toxic staff.

Such people toxic to the team, even if are hard workers. Set behavioral boundaries early and give strong warnings.

I would make sure th roles of such a effective but toxic staff don't overlap into the role of other staff. They would practically work in isolation.

Mentorship would work. But that would be dependent on if the staff is willing to learn and change. If not, it is wasted efforts.

Call their attention and let them explain why they have toxic manners that could trigger fear of the custers. If their attitude continues, they'd better be fired.

Sometimes, all you just need is to press the right button. Get into dialogue with the staff and get to find out why he or she behaves like that. Correct and encourage her, that's where training starts.

Don't start what you can't finish oh. From the begining let them know what you want in terms of sportsmanship and their work ethics. But if along the line they "change" probably they pretended, give them their due first and second warning after ward if they remain their toxic self cut them loose else you loose not just your other workers but also your clients.
