How do you differentiate between savings and investments?

In my opinion, savings and investments are very different both in form such as saving in the form of fiat money, while investing in the form of instruments such as stocks, property etc. Risk and profit, savings have very low risk and low profit on the other hand investment has higher risk and profit. and of course there are many more differences.

Saving is more about keeping a specific amount of money for future use, then on the other hand, investing or investment is putting your money in something with an expectation that it would generate more after a while.

Savings are the most liquid and low-risk asset. They don't fluctuate in value, but their value will decrease with inflation. They also offer very low interest rates. Savings are primarily for short-term needs. Investments, on the other hand, are more focused on the long term.
