How do you start a conversation about your business with a potential client?

Imagine that you are in a bar or a public place, and you see someone that might be in need of the services you offer.

How do you go ahead to strike a conversation about your business with that person?

If I'm in a bar or some other public place and I see someone who might need my services, my first priority would be to be natural and not seem intrusive. The most important thing for me would be to approach them with a friendly attitude, smile, and start a casual conversation, perhaps by commenting on the surroundings or something we have in common. Then, I would try to understand if that person has any needs I can address without putting them at risk. For example, I might say something like, "Hey, I noticed you mentioned something interesting. What do you do?" or "Have you been having any difficulties in [the area related to my business]?" The key is to listen attentively and offer my help genuinely, without making the other person uncomfortable. The idea is to build trust and, if the opportunity arises, discuss in more detail how I can help them.

To start a conversation with a potential client, I would start with trying to be friends with the person. Take the conversation to discussion about our respective interests and chip in my business at that point.

You can start with telling the person the items you have on stock and how useful they can be to the person

Communication skills is something i seriously need to learn as a business owner cause i completely suck at this aspect.

In all you do about talking to a total stranger who you perceive as a potential client or customer, don't be too pushy to the point of barging in on the person with your products or services.
