How long can a business last for it to survive the death of it's founder?

It is always like businesses die if the person that founded the business dies. That is not good because businesses are supposed to be self sustaining at a point.

How long would a business be running before it can survive the death of it's founder? Some say 15 years.

The problem that we entrepreneurs face is that we think ourselves as super men that nothing can happen to. That's why we refuse to build structures that our businesses can run without us.

Yes, 15 -20 years is a good enough time for a business to keep running without dying even at the demise of the owner.

For a business to build a solid structure that can survive beyond the founder's death, it should have been running for at least ten years.

Studies show that it would take a business 15 years to have run with the owner for that business not to go down after the owner dies.

Personally, I don't think it is mostly about how long the business has been around, but it mostly depends on the kind of structure that has been put in place before now.
