It would seem reckless for a business organization to allow a new staff to work unsupervised immediately they start work. Even if the new staff is a top pro, he or would need some loevwlod supervision to ascertain that they align to company culture.

As a business owner, when would you stop supervising a new staff?

You stop supervising closely when behavior becomes predictable. I look for three things. They deliver quality work without reminders. They make good decisions when something breaks. They protect the company when no one watches. For most roles this takes 30 to 90 days. Seniors move faster, juniors take longer. Supervision never disappears, it just shifts from daily checks to outcome reviews.

You can assess that employee by letting him or her answer questionnaire related to their work, and emphasised there what they lack and if there is something they don't understand, and what they want to learn. State whether they experience difficulties to their new work environment. This assures you that your employees could manage without supervision after knowing their responses.

I think it depends, most times it usually takes between a month to three months or six months. There are cases where it might even be up to a year.

Once the staff has mastered the job and what it entails, it is okay to allow such staff work independently. It could be a duration of one month maximum. If the staff us slow in learning, it could take more time than that.

Once an employee has mastered the game, it is great to let them work alone without being monitored every hour. This builds confidence and makes them more creative in their daily tasks. A month is enough if the person is attentive. Giving them that opportunity helps the business move forward quickly and efficiently.
