How many devices can be connected to a WiFi router at once?

I have observed that WiFi routers are becoming very popular in usage, especially for businesses that have to connect lots of computers to the internet. How many computers can one connect to a Wi-Fi router at the same time?

I think a wifi router is usually capable of connecting up to 20 to 50 persons all at once though, but haven't tried it myself.

My router can take up to a maximum of 32 connections at a time. I have not had more than four connections a time though. N

There are some routers that can take up to 40 devices. The minimum though is about 20 devices to be connected at once.

The wifi router that my neighbor uses in the shop can accommodate up to 38 devices connected to it and the Internet won't be slowed down one bit.
