I myself have been creating and running forums now since 2004 with my biggest forum being created in 2009 but unfortunately, I had to make the tough decision to close it in 2017 due to the hosting costs rising considerably and it being too much for me to afford.

I have now brought that forum back but due to losing the backup I had, we have had to start from the beginning again. Other than Chat Addicts, I also co-own a video game and video game content creation forum with my other half.

How many forums do you currently own at the moment? Do you plan on opening more?

It is great that you own forums. Personally, I do not own any forums because I find it very difficult and demanding to own and run a forum. It's not easy at all.

Exactly unless it's your passion and have sufficient time to monitor the forum site. It will become a part of you. The maintenance and traffic, members and commitments are at stake and must be at par excellence.

I agree with you. It is not easy to run a forum site. It requires a lot of time and effort.

Yes it's a headache if we're not committed to it. We have different tastes and specialties in life. Lucky are those gifted persons like Devin and Jordan, they are committed knowledgeable and skilled on forum creations. Plus dunno the monetization procedures.

That's pretty impressive though, for me though i do not have a forum and to be honest i dont even think i would want to own one. I doubt i would have the skills and time to manage a forum .

You are absolutely right. Mr Devin and Mr Jordan are both gifted and have the required knowledge to run forum sites. They are perfect.

@Shortie I do not see myself as a webmaster, offcourse i would associate with webmasters though. It also depends with the type of forums you ussually like to create. Is it one with the reward system or it is just one where people are engaging for free without an incentive?

That is so good of you owning a roum site. You should have saved your forum. I do ot own a forum hahaha. It is never in my dream to own a forum. It gives a headache. 🤣

I do not own any forum, but I think that starting a forum could b a really great thing to do. There are many opportunities that you could utilise and offer paid posting to your members. This will also definitely encourage your members to post a lot more. Paid posting forums have increased a lot in numbers and this is a great thing.

One can create a forum if having skills, interest or passion, and potential. There are many things to consider hosting fees, domain buying, ads invitations and more challenges pop up along the way. You need to tighten your belt especially if it's a paid to post forum.

I love online forums. This is why I always try my best to work on different online forums. I have been working professionally for a really long time. Discussion Bucks forum is also a great platform where you can earn money as a writer. This is why you will always find me very active in here.

Mine are very much people engaging without an incentive. I own and co-own two forums at the moment, one is a general chat forum and the other is a video game and content creation forum but we do not offer a paid incentive for these.

I have thought about it with my general chat forum but it would cost a lot to keep it sustainable until we were making something back from it.

I have never created or owned a forum site, I am aware of my lack of skills to build a forum site and it also requires daily maintenance, especially from spammers and plagiarism etc. It also seems like it takes a lot of capital to pay members before the forum site can make any money.

That's impressive, I've never had the courage to start my own forum, mostly because I'm not tech-savvy and don't know much about web design. How did you learn how to create and run forums? Did you have any mentors or guidance?
