My smartphone is connected to the internet 24 hours a day. I do not disconnect the wifi since I need to work and for emergencies.

Am not sure how many hours per day but one thing is certain, the only time my data connection is off is when i am charging my phone or watching a quick movie.

My internet is 24/7 unlimited. It has a router and my family member can get access both laptop or mobile phone.
The only time I get to turn off my internet connection is when I am about to sleep. That's both for my smartphone and laptop.
Devices which have a sim remain connected to the internet whenever they are switched on. I use the Wi-Fi connection only for a few hours a day mainly for forum posting work.
Especially for smartphones, they are always connected to the internet for 24 hours and never stop unless the power goes out, while for other devices such as laptops or PCs, of course, only when they are turned on.
My smartphone is always connected to the internet at every point in time. I always have things that I don't want to miss out online.
