Market share is a business's sales data divided by the total sales of the same industry in a specific market. It is often expressed as a percentage as a measure of a business's performance, competitiveness, or product dominance in the market.

For example, during 2025, my chicken noodle business achieved total sales/revenue of $400,000, while total chicken noodle sales in the same market were $1000,000, so my chicken noodle business's market share is 40%.

Your calculation is absolutely wrong. If the entire market sales is $100,000 and your own sales $400,000. Then if you divide 400,000/100,000, it will give you 0.4%. But perhaps you make mistake at market total sales which is likely to be $1000000.

Sorry, I wrote it wrong, there is a zero missing, and it is impossible because the total chicken noodle sales are less than the revenue, it should be $1000k. thanks for your correction.
