The target market is a group of customers that we target or make business targets as potential buyers. For this reason, business people need to identify target markets so that product marketing can be more effective and focused. So business people don't need to bother reaching customers outside their target market. It is hoped that having a predetermined target market can also save marketing costs. So according to you, how do you identify your target market?
 
One easy way to identify your target audience is to first find out does who already buy your products. Let's say for example you are about starting a cloth selling business. There are probably others around you who are already into this line of work. These people who buy form them are your target audience. Find out what classes of persons normally purchase from them and the likes. Or you could simply carry out a survey test to know your target audience.
 
Small businesses can know their target markets by doing direct marketing so a cross section of market segments. With that, they would know and understand the segment that appreciates their products more.
